This page explains how to ask us to delete your steerStory account. You do not need the app installed to send a request.

How to request account deletion
- Email [email protected] from the same Google account email you use to sign in to steerStory.
- Use this subject line:
Delete steerStory account - In the message body, include:
- The Google account email used in the app
- A clear confirmation that you want your steerStory account deleted
- (Optional) Your approximate country or region, if it helps us find your record
If you no longer have access to that Google email: say so in your message and include any other detail you remember (approximate sign-up time, Play order email, or similar). We will only delete an account when we can reasonably verify it belongs to you — we will not delete someone else’s account based on an unverified third-party email.
We aim to complete verifiable requests within 30 days.
What we delete
After a verified request, we remove or dissociate personal account data we control, including:
- Your SteerStory Firebase Authentication account association and personal profile data we store
- Personal fields on our user records (for example, email if stored)
- Consented analytics / crash identifiers we can reset or dissociate through provider tools
What we keep
To keep the free narration trial fair (one trial per Google account):
Deleting your SteerStory account removes your personal account data from our systems. To keep the free narration trial fair (one trial per Google account), we keep a minimal record that this Google account has already used its trial. That record is not used for marketing and does not restore your library or reading history.
We also do not erase:
- Google Play purchase / entitlement records — those are controlled by Google. Deleting your SteerStory account does not refund Pro.
- Data that exists only on your device (books, local habits, local preferences) — uninstall the app, clear app storage, or delete items in the app. See Delete data.
What this does not do
- Does not uninstall the app or wipe your phone
- Does not delete your Google account
- Does not remove Google Play purchase history
- Does not restart the free narration trial
